An Ordinary Day in Idleb
Every year on 2nd November, we mark the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists. This day serves as a solemn reminder of the perils faced by journalists across the globe who endeavour to uncover the truth and hold power to account. It is a call to action to combat the pervasive impunity enjoyed by those who perpetrate violence against these courageous individuals.
In honour of this significant day, Intersections e.V. was proud to collaborate with the Syrian Female Journalists Network (SFJN) on their impactful campaign, “An Ordinary Day in Idleb”. This campaign illuminates the lived experiences of women journalists navigating the complexities of life and work in Syria, presented through a series of compelling interviews. By sharing their personal narratives, “An Ordinary Day in Idleb” powerfully illustrates the extraordinary challenges these women face and underscores the urgent imperative to safeguard journalists and ensure their safety. Intersections e.V. played a pivotal role in this initiative by conducting in-depth interviews with six women journalists, capturing their unique perspectives and amplifying their voices to reach a broader audience.
The campaign is in Arabic and is available on SFJN’s YouTube channel.
